Hello Mac…the ASA says you’re okay!

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority recently released an assessment in response to complaints lodged against some of the MAC ads. (Gees they are good ads :-)).

It’s worth a read. While you can argue some points, the realities are pretty much close to the mark. (says a new convert to MACs). It does still freak me that I don’t have any anti-virus or spyware software on my machine (coming from 17 years of running such software on all previous machines I have owned).

  1. ‘Blahdy-blah, Macs are sooo good’ (yawn).

Ok, I admit, they’re not bad. But lets not have a Mac fetish here. We need to keep it on the quiet, ok ? I mean, if everyone owned a mac, the security industry would probably have to shed half it’s workforce overnight. Think about that, my fellow security dudes. (You and I *really* owe Bill Gates a lot.)

While on the subject, here’s a challenge: Is there anyone in the world unaware that Draz now owns a Mac ?

Thing is, if you didn’t previously know it, you’re either in a coma, or living in a cave somewhere in the Highlands of New Guinea.

Yes Draz, we all know you own a Mac. And you’re very fond of it. In a strangely bizarre kind of way. Your friends are becoming worried about your almost-unnatural obsession with it.

  2. Yeah Yeah Yeah….I do like my MAC but not to geek levels. Some this is sad: http://www.smh.com.au/news/phones–pdas/fans-fight-to-get-new-iphone/2007/06/16/1182018930306.html
