The Big Galoot steps into the researcher vs. ZDNet Warz….

…..and gets censored and asked to “refrain from posting”.

The famous Big Galoot has now upset my favourite lady in IT security research, Joanna Rutkowska.

Though we don’t have the details of what was said given responses to her blog are checked and censored before being posted, we understand, she’s aware of the stuff in the forum here.

We’ve defended Joanna here in the past and if the Big Galoot has overstepped the boundaries of political correctness, well all I can say is…..he probably deserves everything he gets by not being allowed to post on Joanna’s forum ever again.

Big Galoot needs a wikipedia entry I believe. Just so people can reference the man who is the “Opinion” of this industry! (Some hooks don’t even need bait….do they BG?) :-)

  1. Damn….lost the replies stuffing around in admin. Sorry to all who posted here. I know I had a rant but some had some real things to say.

@BG again. That was the most interesting stuff that forum there at Joanna’s has had in a while and added as much sensibility to the discussion as any of the fanboi BS has done. LOL. ZDNet should hire you if they were half smart. I know I would go to their site then.(Can someone link me?)

  3. I’m claiming the Guiness World Record for the world’s shortest-lived lifetime blogging ban.

And its all thanks to invisible things.org’s Jo-Rut.

11:24am. I was politely asked by Jo to refrain from posting anything further on her site, citing my *alleged* analysis of women’s sexuality and the impact on the IT research community.

(For the record, all I said was something quite innocuous like, “Get off your high horse, princess.” And posted a link to this site containing my comments about her hordes of billygoat devotees. ;-) )

12:13pm Funny how quickly things can change. But women can be fickle creatures, especially on the topic of themselves & how good looking they might (or might not) be. I was then immediately permitted by Jo to re-commence my blogging on her site.

The topic ? A highly technical question: Whether Jo, by her own admissions (previously suggestive of her sexuality), considered herself sexy, or not.

Interestingly, the question was not only permitted by Jo, it was again *repeated* - not by me - by her - later in her blog.

    :-)
    BG
