Center for Internet Security (CIS)?!

Gees, what planet have I been on? Never heard of these guys and they sound important by their title:

    CIS are fantastic and have been helping people hardening their kit for years.

    While people will certainly argue about specific points in their hardening guides, its all good. Its one of few groups that really benefit the community through promoting simple good practice.

  3. Yeah I had heard of them previously too.

  4. Old skool RAT(Router Audit Tool) and the like… renamed now etc. They are currently working on log anonymisation and submission thereof, including privacy in data mining to allay fears of enterprises/orgs, akin to medical record anonymity.

    Some old farts, but cool old farts. Overall these peeps, NIST and FIRST are nice backbone/reference/expertees.

    Commentary referenced them/tools here, basically saying their tools with better scoring systems would be nice.

  8. Nothing to see here. Like the securitymetrics mailing list. Round and round and a bunch of experts going nowhere. You haven’t missed anything on both counts!
