    LOL.

Belinda Neal (Iguana-gate) headed up this inquiry. Notable recommendations include this gem:

“Privacy Measures to Combat Cyber Crime
    Recommendation 28
That the Office of the Privacy Commissioner use the full extent of its powers to ensure that overseas organisations that handle the personal information of Australian citizens and residents are aware of, and adhere to, their obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).”

A noble cause, but in naive in the extreme to think it is in any way enforceable. How does one realistically ensure a call centre in New Delhi adheres to their “obligations” under Australian Privacy Laws? Forgive me while I laugh.

But here’s a thought: Belinda Neal herself could be Kevin Rudd’s Australian envoy “enforcer” in New Delhi. Who better to bluff & baffle, using Iguana-gate strong arm tactics?

Belinda could shout & scream at those naughty call centre people, ‘I will have your f-ing licence, I will close this business down within three months, I will have the f-ing police down here every weekend to put pressure on you to close you down’.

Finally, her routine would conclude, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’

Yep, that would surely fix the problem !
    ;)

The likelihood of much coming out ATM is low. Change of Government would make the odds even lower. Who is going to listen and keep track of this in the inbox?
